Adidas, Lafarge and Peugeot Citroen among speakers at European Captive Owner Summit

The first one-day European Captive Owner Summit will take place in Brussels on Wednesday, June 24 with 60 captive owners set to discuss topics including self-management, employee benefits and Solvency II.

Hosted by Captive Review – organisers of the biennial European Captive Forumthe Summit is designed to be an intimate environment for risk and insurance managers to debate and discuss best practice.

Roundtable sessions on topics including international programmes, utilising investment opportunities and run-off strategies, are led by the captive owners themselves with an impressive number of high profile professionals taking part.

Among those leading roundtables on employee benefits are Heiko Ditzel, senior insurance manager at Adidas, and Daniele Zucchi, managing director of Saipem’s captive Sigurd Ruck.

Edouard De Lamarzelle, CEO of PSA Peugeot Citroen’s captive, will lead two roundtables on turning the captive into a profit centre while John Morrey, managing director of Builders Reinsurance, is among those leading sessions on self-management and outsourcing captive services.

“I am delighted with the extremely high calibre of captive professionals who will be leading the content,” said Richard Cutcher, editor of Captive Review.

“The agenda has been designed in regular consultation with Europe’s risk management and captive owning community and I expect it to provide thought provoking debate throughout the day.”

The European Captive Owner Summit has deliberately limited sponsor participation to ensure the captive owning delegates remain in the majority. Each of the 12 sponsors are only able to send two delegates each.
