2017 Captive Review Power 50

The Captive Review Power 50 has returned for 2017 and the latest ranking will be published on Monday, 8 January.  The Power 50 is a ranked list recognising the most influential professionals in the global captive insurance industry.

Criteria for nominations are those individuals who have been the biggest “movers and shakers” in the captive insurance industry over the past 12 months and who will continue to influence the industry’s direction and progress in the future. These are professionals who make considerable effort to influence and lead the industry from both within, and outside, of their every day job role.

In 2016, there were more than 4,800 votes submitted with Peter Mullen, CEO of Aon Captive and Insurance Management, named number one. Nick Durant, the new president of Marsh Captive Solutions at the time, was number two with Zurich’s Paul Woehrmann in at number three.

The Enterprise Risk Captive Pioneers is also returning for 2017.  The ERC Pioneers list recognises the 20 leading names involved in the United States’ smaller captive industry – those captives making the 831(b) tax election. The 20 ERC Pioneers will be revealed on Wednesday, 10 January.

Voting for the Captive Review Power 50 and ERC Pioneers closed at midnight US Eastern Time on Friday, 15 December.
