Webinar to address US tax reform impact on captives

EY, in collaboration with Captive Review, will host a webinar, on Wednesday, 27 December, addressing the direct impact of President Trump’s Tax Reform Bill on the captive insurance industry.

The United States Congress passed legislation on Wednesday, 20 December and Trump is expected to sign it into law before Christmas.

The free webinar, chaired by Captive Review editor Richard Cutcher, will be broadcast at 4pm EST on Wednesday, 27 December, and will review and discuss the impact of US tax reform on the captive insurance market from domestic and international perspectives.

Cutcher will be joined by EY experts, including Paul H. Phillips III, tax partner at EY’s Global Captive Network and US captive insurance services co-leader, and Mikhail Raybshteyn, senior manager – tax, US captive insurance services deputy leader.

“The webcast will address the impact that tax reform could or will have on the current captive insurance structures, including direct and reinsurance business, both domestically and in the context of inbound-outbound structures with one or multiple captive insurance companies in the mix,” EY stated.

“It will highlight major elements of the intended tax reform, including international tax and transfer pricing areas relevant to the captive insurance market.”
